Erith were appointed as Principal Contractor for the demolition phase of the old Marks and Spencer HQ to make way for a new 900,000 ft2 mixed use development for London and Regional Properties in Central London. Erith undertook the engineering design for £0.5m of temporary works to retain 7 storeys of the existing structure. Erith’s innovative engineering solution created a 3 month programme advantage by enabling the groundworks to be undertaken in parallel with the main demolition activities above.
